Creative Producer,UCD Library,Fixed term post Dec 2023

Applications are invited for a Temporary Fixedterm post until Dec. 2023 post of a Creative Producer within UCD Library The Creative Producer will assist with the development and co-management of the Poetry as Commemoration project with the Irish Poetry Reading Archive at UCD Library. The project is funded through the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media's Creative Imagination Strand and is part of the Government's national Decade of Centenaries programme. This 27-month project will be led by the Irish Poetry Reading Archive in UCD Library. The Creative Producer, taking an imaginative and innovative approach, will help to develop and coordinate a dynamic programme of activities to engage diverse audiences on the island of Ireland, including poetry workshops, events, installations and publications. The post will involve some travelling to meet with stakeholders and to assist with public installations. The aim of this project is to encourage people on the island of Ireland to build a greater understanding of our shared past through creative engagement with archival materialsrelating to the War of Independence and Civil War. Drawing on materials held in local archives, poetry will be used to deepen our collective understanding of our past and to explore a challenging period of history on this island, in a spirit of openness and inclusivity. The Creative Producer will work collaboratively with institutions, groups and individuals across the island of Ireland, including: Poetry Ireland, individual poets, archivists, librarians, heritage officers, arts officers, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, publishers, and the Local Government Management Agency. They will assist in coordinating the commissioning, the publication, and the recording of new poems relating to the War of Independence and Civil War, which will be inspired by archival material held in repositories in Ireland and Northern Ireland. They will help to coordinate project activity across the island by assisting in the development of an extensive public engagement programme, including provision of creative writing workshops to adults and children. Other key components of the role include supporting the development of a `poetry in public spaces' initiative; assisting with the organisation of a symposium; helping to capture select project outputs for inclusion on a new Poetry as Commemoration website; and to record and preserve this poetry in the Irish Poetry Reading Archive95 Administrative Officer II 2010 (2013) Salary Scale: €43,415 - €55,740 per annumAppointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.Closing date: 17:00hrs (local Irish time) on 19th October 2021Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified.
